Born in 1900, Jacques Adnet was an Art Deco furniture designer, architect and interior designer. From 1928 to 1960, Adnet directed La Compagnie des Arts Français which had been founded by Sue et Mare. His team of decorators included Francois Jourdain, Charlotte Perriand and Georges Jouve. Adnet conceived a modernist, industrially produced and solidly constructed furniture in a plain Art Deco style. He also linked tradition and modernity, defining himself as ‘’innovative and classical, the champion of a tradition looking forwards. During the 1950s he created leather-covered furniture with Hermès.

Saddle Stitching is a hand stitching technique commonly used among saddle makers. It is not only used for saddle making, but also for handmade leather goods and luxury leather-covered furniture. Hermès, the high-end French luxury goods manufacturer, is one of the only well-known brands to still employ the technique.

Vosges manufactures in France bespoke leather-covered furniture, tables and lightings. All our pieces are also made upon order. As a result, our team can adapt our models to your requested dimensions and finishings. Vosges furthermore designs and crafts any pieces from your own drawings or images.
