Created in 1922, Maison Dominique was born of the collaboration between André Domin and Marcel Genevriere. The pair completed many important private and public projects in the 1930s. It included a luxury suite for the ocean liner the Normandy for the Compagnie Generale Transatlantique. Maison Dominique was among the major creators of fine furniture pieces during the Art Deco period.

 

Art Deco is a movement in the decorative arts and architecture that developed during the 1930s and the 1940s. Its name was derived from the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes, held in Paris in 1925. Art Deco continued moreover to be a source of inspiration in interior designs into the 21st century.
