Louis XVI style bed. Solid Beechwood frame, hand-carving. Gold leaf finishings. Upholstering in white and covering with Customer’s Own Material (COM) This model of bed is available in various dimensions, and bespoke finishings (lacquer painting, yellow gold leaf, white gold leaf…) We can, of course, add an inset upholstered footboard or molded and sculpted columns.
In the second half of the 18th century, archeologists excavated the ruins of Pompeii. As a result, art and culture of Antiquity inspired a Neoclassical style in architecture, interior decoration and of course furniture. The Louis XVI style displays straight and symmetrical lines and also classical decorative motifs. Motifs are for example: acanthus leaves, friezes of pearls, Greek friezes…
