RUSSIAN NEOCLASSICAL SIDE CHAIR

Russian neoclassical side chair. Solid beechwood and curved plywood frame. Patinated green bronze lacquer finishings. Upholstering in white and covering with Customer’s Own Material (COM) Custom dyed and weaved cable and trim by Maison Verrier. An Empire Russian model from the State Hermitage Museum, St Petersburg, especially inspired this chair. The back is not upholstered while the chair is comfortable due to its curve.

The glorious ancient Greek and Roman Empires influenced the French Empire style during the reign of Napoleon Bonaparte. The Empire style achieved great popularity. It was therefore adopted in courts throughout Europe, especially in Russia. In Germany and Austria, it coexisted with the Biedermeier style associated with modest domestic interiors. In England it was known as the Regency style.

Vosges manufactures bespoke and luxury Empire style chairs and furniture. We craft all our pieces upon order. As a result, we can adapt our models to your requested dimensions, comfort and upholstering finishings. Our design office consequently provides shop drawings and samples for approval. Custom dyed and weaved trims, cables, rosettes, fringes… are also available upon request. Vosges can organize the collection, packing and shipment of completed orders on your behalf.
