Straw Marquetry is a traditional technique in high-end cabinetmaking. We begin by opening, splitting, dyeing, and ironing each rye stem by hand. Then, we sort them by tone from pale gold to rich dark brown or black. Once selected, we adjust and glue the stems edge to edge onto the surface, creating intricate decorative patterns with precision and care.
