Gilbert Poillerat (1902–1988) was a French master ironworker and designer renowned for elevating wrought iron to the level of fine art. Trained at the École Boulle in Paris, he initially worked within the Art Deco tradition. He developed a highly refined modernist language marked by precision, rhythm, and architectural clarity. Poillerat is best known for his sculptural furniture, lighting, and interior elements. He often used interlaced curves, geometric motifs, and an exceptional sense of balance.
