Born in 1889, Eugène Printz is a French cabinet maker and designer of the Art Deco period. Self-taught, he was first initiated to the copy of antique furniture in his father’s Parisian workshop. However, Printz turned into his own modern creations in the 1920’s.  He collaborated then with Pierre Chareau for the International Exposition of Modern Industrial and Decorative Arts in 1925. The exhibition was a great success. Eugène Printz was consequently entrusted with numerous significant public and private commissions. It includes, for example, the furnishing of haute-couture fashion designer Jeanne Lanvin‘s office. He also collaborated with the famous lacquer-master Jean Dunand. Printz is most famous for its precious furniture made with Palmwood enhanced by oxidized bronze elements.

Art Deco continued to be a source of inspiration in interior designs into the 21st century.
