Gilbert Poillerat (1902-1988) was one of the most renowned French designers and master ironworkers of the 20th century. His exceptional craftsmanship led him to collaborate with many leading designers of his time, including Jacques Adnet and André Arbus.
Poillerat created an array of decorative, elegant and functional pieces, including grillwork, tables, chairs, consoles, screens, lighting, and firedogs. His designs were heavily inspired by nature and mythology, incorporating organic elements such as branches, corals, and leaves. Additionally, he adorned his furniture with delicate gilded metal details, twisted ropes, stars, bows and arrows bringing a refined and poetic touch to his work.
