Born in 1724, Pierre Remy is a French 18th century master chairmaker. His workshop produced high quality seat furniture in the Louis XV, Transition and consequently Louis XVI styles.

The furniture of the Louis XV period (1715–1774) is characterized by curved forms, lightness, comfort and also asymmetry. It replaced the more formal and massive furniture of the Louis XIV style. Louis XV furniture was designed not for the vast palace state rooms of the Versailles of Louis XIV, but for the smaller, more intimate salons created by Louis XV and by his mistresses, Madame de Pompadour and Madame DuBarry. Notable master furniture designers of the Louis XV period included André-Charles Boulle, Charles Cressent, Louis Delanois, Jean-François Oeben

Vosges custom fabricates chairsbedslighting and further pieces of furniture for luxury residential projects. The very best Louis XV chairs and furniture also inspired some of our production.
