Jacques-Emile Ruhlmann is a legendary French furniture designer and interior decorator of the Art Deco period. By the 1920s Ruhlmann was the most successful and prestigious designer of his day. He used the finest materials such as Macassar ebony, Amboina burl, Brazilian rosewood, lacquer and ivory details. As a consequence, his luxurious designs were prohibitively expensive for all but the wealthiest. Aesthetic refinement, sumptuous materials, and impeccable construction techniques make Ruhlmann’s furniture truly unique, timeless and moreover extremely elegant.
