Born in 1895, Jean-Michel Frank was a French interior designer. He is known for minimalist, elegant and modern interiors. He decorated with plain-lined but sumptuous furniture made of luxury materials. Therefore, he employed materials such as shagreen, mica, parchment and intricate straw marquetry. Icon of the Art Deco style, Frank was the most influential designer of the 1930s. Up to the present time, leading designers and architects recognize Frank as one of the greatest sources of inspiration.
